Alternate medicine was the only form of healing during the Stone Age, as science was at its initial stages and conventional medicine had not yet being fully established or studied due to the lack of knowledge and understanding at that time. As time went on, people started getting inquisitive and they kept noting down observations and hypothesise for a given illness. Once the human race founded the microscope so many breakthroughs happened and the conventional system was established. Humans were able to study the illness and diseases, find out from where exactly it came from, through what medium does it spread and it answered most questions. Once the step of diagnosis is done scientist were working on methods to find a cure.
This of course worked on a trial and error basis initial but then law were put in place to make sure the western medicine has their standards. The conventional system also known as western medicine, compromises of doctors, scientists, laboratory workers and pharmacists. It is reported that the pharmaceutical industry is the second highest in most of the country’s economy and it is second to weaponry. This shows how much people rely on western medicine and it also has another nickname and that is ‘’weapons of mass prescription’’.
When someone gets a simple headache nowadays they turn to pain relievers which do not need an actual prescription and are freely available in all pharmacies. But there have been so many reported cases where the dosage of this was too much and people have got killed due to this problem. And plus without proper diagnosis people take pills which the organisations must try and ban. These drugs may just numb the pain and not actually solve the problem as to why the headache arises. Instead of taking pills one could do headache chiropractor which is a branch of alternative medicine.
The chiropractic doctors will examine the patients and look into his/her spinal cord and detect an area which is not moving properly. They will then treat that particular area and it has been found that mist headaches have been cured using headache chiropractor.
But either way, whether it is alternative medicine or western medicine, both types tries their level best to solve the problems humans have. It also depends on the persons mind set as some might be use to taking western medicine while some prefer alternate medicine. Once the body gets immune to one type of system it is very difficult to switch to another as this might some complications.
